The Girl Who Resembles Shing Shing
Episode 1 is finally here and I literally just finished watching it.

To get straight to the point, the opening scene is of when Sung Joon's character Allen is born and meeting a 7 year old Shing-Shing for the first time. The relationship between these two seems as though they are family friends and are really close. I think it's cute though how 'Sweet Potato' grew up to be quite attractive despite what his name means.

One of the cutest moments of the first episode. |
I honestly couldn't help but think that these two have a really cute sibling relationship until we got to the present time and Shing-Shing told Allen off, letting him know that he can't stay at her house. I was completely surprised and blown away at what their family relationship actually was and thought it was still really cute how Allen couldn't let the conversation end without letting Shing-Shing know that he missed his Shing-Shing. That was a total and utter 'awe' striking moment people. And despite what she said I feel she grew up liking the innocent little kid.......but that's another side note I think.
The next scene that shows up is that of Shing-Shing in the heat of work. To be honest, I was initially unsure of what her role was but she seemed very successful at it. I mean is she a retailer of some sort.....I really wasn't too sure what they are called. (A successful fashion director for a home shopping network????). Anywho, the scene flows straight into what I consider to be utter cuteness. The way Shing-Shing just ran into her sunbae's office, Kang Tae Yoon, and simultaneously bragged about her success while threatening to take his position away from him was hilarious. And then she flew straight towards her brooding boyfriend in all her hype. Unfortunately because I saw the previews and trailer I was completely prepared for her break up with Lee PD and found myself reading into (or at least trying to) his every expression and action. I was especially unsure and confused as to why he bought the necklace and figured it was either a break up gift or a gift for someone else. (Who could this someone be??) But aside from reading Lee PD's expression, I was extremely excited to see the smiling face of Nam Goong Min who plays Tae Yoon oppa. It was a completely refreshing experience from his slightly selfish and jerk like attitude in Unemployed Romance.

Back to the break up scene, I thought it was sincerely funny how right after Lee PD said, 'Let's break up", the scene went straight into flashback mode showing scenes of young Shing-Shing and young Allen. I really do appreciate how Alex oppa's character went about it and after finding out about Shing-Shing's past relationships I finally understand why she did what she did and my anger with her coldness was subdued due to her rationality. I do still feel though that if she at least gave her all in this relationship it would have been a slightly different ending for them. But more importantly I am deathly curious about the reason he wanted to break up with her and I'm wondering why she didn't give into her curiosity and just ask. But again looking at her past relationships, she did look a bit angry and hurt at the fact that he wanted to break up and I probably would have stubbornly not asked nor would I have wanted to know his reason for the break up. (And of course later regret the decision not to ask). But their ending is an opening for Allen. ^_^
The next scene, though, really got me upset. I at first thought it was going to be really cute how Park Yoo Hwan's character Lee Woo Young was posting about the first snow fall to then find a post about how Lee PD just broke with his girlfriend.........I mean what!!!!! I was completely shocked to read the post and I was even more shocked at what happened next. The fact that now everyone on her team and perhaps in the office knows of the break up is typical but its hurtful that everyone is now starting or their relationships are heating up even more now that she's single...... Poor Shing-Shing. (I would just like to note that Jung Hee Jae's boyfriend is totally hot). But still prefect timing is still prefect timing and I would like to officially state that I am team Allen....but that might change since I think it's pretty obvious that Tae Yoon oppa has feelings for his hubae. I would like to also point out that I am currently loving how all the scenes are flowing into each other and how the director is developing the main characters relationship and slowly pushing them to be together. It just makes everything so obvious and you can tell what's going to happen next but not mind. And if your anything like me, you will still be amazed and in awe of what happens.
Seriously prefect timing calls for prefect timing. The scene where Allen calls Shing-Shing despite knowing that she wants nothing to do with him and the fact that she no longer has a boyfriend at that moment was a sincerely touching scene for me. I mean Allen seems to have grown up to be a very insightful man *swoon* and has completely stolen my heart. I can't wait to see the development of their relationship.

........uhmm okay so now Shing-Shing's relationship with Tae Yoon oppa has officially become clear to me. He his with out a doubt her male best friend. And I absolutely love relationships like that. The way she just barges into his house and takes out a bottle of wine and glasses as if his house is her house shows the level of comfort the two have with each other and I'm a bit worried at how that relationship will change.
Shing-Shing's unexpected meeting with Allen at the club was hilarious though. As well as the unexpected return of Oh Se Ryung......the ex-best friend. And the necklace!!!!!! OMG!!! What was the necklace doing around her neck? Of all the people in the world it had to be her? I don't even know about their history but I've already got a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to her. And my breathing all but stopped when Allen kissed Se Ryung on the forehead because he didn't realize that he was looking at his Shing-Shing.........ugh (eotteohge)!!!!! Honestly though, the whole time was thinking, "Shing-Shing is going to be shocked when she finds out that Allen is her little 'Sweet Potato'". Ugh could the ending have been any more frustrating?????

Ex-Boyfriend Cameo Special:
Now I was seriously not expecting to see any of these characters but when I saw them I was in complete awe and total shock. I am seriously a huge fan of John Park and his voice by the way.......
John Park oppa plays the college boyfriend who loves music more than he cares for her which is also a hilariously sad ending for.
Joo Sang Wook plays the next college boyfriend that 'goes aboard' for school but in reality I think he lost his interest in her.......>_>
Finally Alex Chu oppa plays Lee PD. Whom I believe was stolen by Oh Se Ryung......I mean she has on the necklace he was seen buying by the end of the episode so........
On a side note here are some quotes from the episode I really liked:
"I promised Shing Shing I would return. And I have returned. To Shing Shing's world."
"Hearts and feelings aren't important to me."
"So Shing-Shing is....the woman who molded me into who I am today."
"The woman who taught me about feelings."
"There's no reason to be sad, nor be in pain. Relationships coming to an end is a natural occurrence."
"And with that break up, I realized the true nature of relationships. That love and break ups are nothing but a play on emotions."
"Every relationship ends by leaving you with a new realization."
"There's only one reason for any break ups. It's because the pinnacle of a relationship has ended."
"I told you that I'd come back to you."
"I told you that I'd come back to you."
